Subject: Organizational Cultural & Linguistic Competency Training
The 2009 Cultural & Linguistic Competency Training will be held on September
30th at the Gay Community Center of Richmond. It is sponsored by the Department
of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Cultural Competency
Steering Committee.
This conference will focus on how the Standards for Culturally and Linguistically
Appropriate Services (CLAS Standards) can be used to develop organizational
plans for cultural and linguistic competence in systems of care. This is the
first of a series of four training days that will be provided over the course
of the next twelve months. These trainings will build upon one another to
provide increased learning over time.
