The Child Welfare Information Gateway is a service of the Children’s Bureau, Administration for children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It provides access to resources covering a wide range of topics on child welfare including prevention, child abuse, neglect, adoption, and more.

The National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health is a national family run organization that provides advocacy for the rights of children and youth with mental health challenges and technical assistance to a nationwide network of family run organizations. The Family Guide to Systems of Care for Children with Mental Health Needs was developed with support from the United States Department of Health and Human Services Child, Adolescent and Family Branch of the Center for Mental Health Services. The guide is available in Spanish and is intended for families and caregivers seeking help for children with mental health problems. It provides information on what they need to know and ask to get the most out of their experience with systems of care.

Mental Health America (formerly the National Mental Health Association) is the largest nonprofit agency in America dedicated to helping people live mentally healthier lives. Mental Health America provides education, advocacy, and support to individuals and families living with mental health and substance use problems.
Medical Home Plus, located in Richmond, Virginia, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for families with children who have special health care needs. Services offered to families include a family resource center, referral services, and health prevention services.

The Virginia Integrated Network of Family Organizations (VA INFO) consists of the following agencies: Medical Home Plus, Family Voices of Virginia, Parent to Parent of Virginia, the Family Involvement Project at the Arc of Virginia, the Virginia Federation of Families and the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center. The VA INFO Center provides youth and parents of children with special needs, including those with behavioral and mental health needs information and training, referrals, peer support and an annual family support conference.
The Arc of Virginia is affiliated with The Arc of the United States and is the state chapter in Virginia. Members speak out on issues that affect people with mental retardation or related developmental disabilities and their families. The most important function of Arc is to assist people with disabilities, family members, friends, and others to become advocates themselves.
Family Voices is a national grassroots organization that provides information and education about ways to ensure and improve family-centered health care for children and youth with disabilities and chronic conditions.

The Virginia Department of Social Services provided the financial support to establish the Association, in an effort to support foster, adoptive, and kinship parents throughout the Commonwealth.
This website is developed by families for families. It is a forum for families to place their learned information about helpful resources for the benefit of others with similar needs.
